Why we show ads
Arthlens is free to read. To keep it free — and to fund editorial work, research and ongoing maintenance — we display advertising. Advertising is a revenue model, not an editorial input.
How ads are labelled
- Every ad unit is framed by a visible "Advertisement" label.
- Commercial comparison placements (if/when we add them) will carry a "Sponsored" chip and a disclosure line.
- Sponsored articles (if/when we publish them) will carry an inline disclosure at the top of the page.
What advertisers can and cannot do
Can do: pay for ad placements, sponsor clearly labelled modules, participate in compensated comparison partnerships where applicable.
Cannot do: edit editorial content, influence the guided check logic, request favourable ranking in editorial sections, or receive advance view of unpublished articles.
Affiliate / comparison partnerships
Arthlens may, in future, receive compensation when readers choose to apply through a clearly labelled commercial comparison module. If we do:
- The module will be labelled "Comparison partners" or similar.
- The ordering logic and the fact of compensation will be disclosed on the page.
- Editorial guides will remain independent of which partners appear in commercial modules.
Editorial ranking
When our editorial guides compare products or categories, the ordering reflects the guide's own argument — not payment. If that ever changes, we'll say so at the top of the affected page.
